Porlamar, Margarita Isl, Venezuela

Margarita Island is the largest island of the Nueva Esparta state in Venezuela, situated in the Caribbean Sea, off the northeastern coast of the country. Considered the Pearl of the Carribean, Margarita island boasts beautiful beaches, tropical flora, bars and discos, salsa clubs and fine restaurants. Its largest city is Porlamar, which is the in the eastern part of the island.

Porlamar was once a quiet fishing village but is now a central hub of the island with shops, restaurants and nightlife. There are two clear large zones; downtown, with it’s narrow streets and its stores, being the Boulevard Guevara the best place to shop at good prices. A little further to the East and also to the North, we can find the two famous avenues Santiago Mariño and 4 de Mayo, with more elegant stores.
