Highlights of this cruise:

Malta
The fortifications at Malta's Grand Harbour speak volumes about her past, indeed her reputation for valour during the Second World war earned her the George Cross and there aren't too many islands you can say that of!

Zadar, Croatia
What sets Zadar apart is its gentle mix of old and new. The historic old town is a cacophony of Roman ruins alongside cosmopolitan cafés, and medieval churches nestling against state-of-the-art museums of culture. Happily, Zadar is not spoiled by tourism. And yet it offers a number of lovely attractions, ideal to explore during your time in port. Its two most popular attractions are the audio-visual ambience of the Sea Organ (an experimental architectural object that plays music via the motion and flow of the sea) and the Sun Salutation - a 22m square art installation of 300 glass plates that capture the sun's energy during the day. Both have to be seen and heard to be believed! Zadar may not be a picture postcard destination, but it has its own beguiling charm. It's a warm, inviting, vibrant city where you can while away the hours sipping vino at street café, or take to the water and enjoy some adrenalin-fuelled watersports. Its restaurants are well known for serving an eclectic menu of local and regional cuisine. And if you fancy venturing inland a little, its nearby countryside is truly breathtaking.

Venice, Italy
This World Heritage city is just about the perfect cruise call because everything you want to see is so easily accessible whether the ship docks just down from St Marks Square or further up the Grand Canal at the main Venice cruise terminal complex.

Rijeka, Croatia
This cosmopolitan coastal city is famous for its annual carnival, Rijeka's theatres, museums and abundant history make cruises to Rijeka an intriguing destination at any time of the year. The unique Baroque rotunda of St Vitus Cathedral, dedicated to the port's Patron Saint and protector, is in the old town. He appears again in a relief on the early 16th century city flagpole outside the Municipal Palace close to the Church of St Jerome, once part of an Augustinian monastery complex. Further stone decorations, this time of fish and molluscs, are found in the city's Great Market. Energetic visitors on Rijeka cruises can climb the 500 steps to reach the ancient district of Trsat and the Church of Our Lady of Trsat, the oldest Croatian sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Hvar, Croatia
It's easy to see why Hvar is such a popular town on this beautiful Dalmatian Riviera island, where terracotta tiled houses cling to the lush hillside rising from the pretty yacht-filled harbour.

Cannes, France
For once, the old town (Le Suquet) is not the first place to head for even though it is conveniently right behind the port area with the brand new Cannes cruise terminal complex.

Livorno, (Florence/Pisa) Italy
Founded in the 16th century by the Grand Dukes of Tuscany - the Medici Family, Livorno remains a busy port and town. Its centre, which is walkable from the port, has some pretty bars, cafés and chic shops but most of Livornos cruise visitors head straight for Pisa, Florence, or the Tuscan towns of Lucca and Siena.

Olbia, Italy
You don't have to travel to the Caribbean to find sea that sparkles in every shade of blue. Sardinia's northeast coast is an earthly paradise of shimmering reefs, coves and bays. The main port of Olbia is often overlooked as crowds rush to the glittering Costa Smeralda, a millionaire's playground for those looking to indulge in La Dolce Vita lifestyle.

Naples, Italy
Cruising into the Bay of Naples is a memorable experience. The Naples port is overlooked by the imposing Sant Elmo medieval castle, high up on Vemero Hill, as well as the 13th century Castel Nuovo, which is right next to the Naples cruise terminal in the heart of the city.
