Highlights of this cruise:

Dubai, UAE
Dubai is a unique blend of the old and new. See its towering engineering achievements and landmark modern architecture. An 18th-century fort, historic districts of coral-stone homes and souks preserve Arab traditions and heritage.

Doha, Qatar
Qatar's capital is a city in the making. Once a small fishing and pearling town, the city has undergone tremendous growth: Today, it's a mix of ultra-modernity and classical culture. Cruise to Doha and start your visit in the reinvented and atmospheric Souq Waqif, the standing market where you can peruse the stalls full of colorful, fragrant spices and ornate, handwoven traditional garments. Then, marvel at the treasures in the world-class Museum of Islamic Art, where you'll find ancient Persian rugs, Turkish mosaics and other pieces of traditional handicraft. Next, take a taxi to Katara Cultural Village: Built in 2010, it's a modern reinvention of classic Qatar architecture, with many small, hidden alleys and a huge marble amphitheatre at its center.

Bahrain
Mina Sulman is one of the major ports in the Middle East, and home to the Royal Bahrain Naval Base. It is located in the Northeastern tip of Bahrain, just south of the capital city of Manama, the country's thriving economic center. Bahrain is a thoroughly modern and culturally diverse country, with just under 1/3 of its population hailing from abroad. It is also expected to be the future home of the world's tallest building-the 1,022-meter-tall Murjan Tower.

Sir Bani Yas, UAE
The best-known of the Desert Islands, just off the coast of Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas is packed full of the grandeur of the Middle East's landscapes and wildlife. Dedicated as a nature preserve in the 1970s, the island revolves around outdoor adventure. Book a 4x4 excursion at Arabian Wildlife Park and spot some of the 10,000 free-roaming animals that call this spot home, including giraffes, ostriches and gazelles. Check out Sir Bani Yas stables: From here, you can take a horseback ride along the shoreline, with sweeping views of the Persian Gulf. Cruise to Sir Bani Yas and step back into ancient history at the archaeological site of a 7th-century A.D. church and monastery that was discovered here in 1992.

Abu Dhabi, UAE
The discovery of oil transformed a fishing village into a thriving capital city. Modern Abu Dhabi features futuristic skyscrapers and luxury hotels as well as heritage museums, spectacular mosques, and traditional bazaars.
